Oribi Gorge is located in the valley of the Umzimkulu River in-land from Port Shepstone. The Hella-Hella Gorge is further up the same river valley. In both areas there are cliffs formed Natal Series sandstone high above the river. Climbing has occurred at sporadic and widely spaced intervals over a period of decades but no records are available. These are excellent venues for a weekend's birding or hiking. The rock faces are extensive and spectacular, but are generally difficult to reach - probably deserve more attention.
